Important Information for Students
Students can apply for financial reimbursement of German courses they took outside of FAU. SDAC gets a set budget from the Elite Network each year, which has to be distributed fairly between students. That’s why there are the following rules regarding the application process:
- Applications for reimbursements are processed twice a year. The deadlines are 1st of April and 1st of October each year. Submission starts one week in advance. Please do not send your application prior, it might get overlooked.
- The application consists of the application form and the invoice of the course. Please send it as one pdf file to the coordinator (jessica.wengel@fau.de)
- The maximum amount per student is 800 Euros in total, but can be significantly lower depending on the available budget. To make sure that all students are able to receive a fair share of the budget, first time applications get priority. If you have already gotten courses reimbursed, your application will only be accepted if there is enough budget left. Reimbursement cannot be promised. After the budget reaches its limit, we are not allowed to make payments, so please plan accordingly.
- You will be informed in case your application cannot be considered anymore. You are allowed to reapply in the next payment period. If you don’t hear from the coordinator about the application anymore, it means that it was accepted and is being processed.
- Processing of the payment can take up to 6 months, so please be patient before inquiring.
- Please note since the WS 24/25: German A1 and A2 courses are not reimbursed anymore, because we have our own SDAC German courses of these levels. The reimbursement is only intended for higher level German courses.
- Students have to be studying at SDAC for at least one more semester after application, so students cannot apply for reimbursement in their last semester.
