Online Documentary Film Screening and Talk Event: Pilgrimage to the Bissu Community
Our senior lecturer Dr. Ferdiansyah Thajib will organize a documentary film screening and talk event for his “Decentering Gender and Sexuality in Asia” course. The film is about the historical and traditional roots of gender pluralism in the Indonesian context, focusing on the lived experiences of ancient Bugis sacred persons in South Sulawesi called Bissu. It will take place on February 1st, Wednesday from 10:15-11:45 (CET). External participants are also welcome.
